Company Bio:

Our client is a distinguished private aviation company based in the Greater Toronto Area. As they continue to expand their operations, they are seeking a highly skilled Director of Finance to join their team. This role will report directly to the CFO and CEO and oversee a team of five accountants, playing a crucial role in steering the financial strategy and operations of the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the finance team, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance, and strategic planning.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company’s growth and operational objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with the CFO and CEO to align financial planning with the overall business strategy.
  • Oversee the preparation of financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and accounting standards, maintaining the highest level of integrity and transparency.
  • Analyze financial performance and provide insights to support decision-making and improve profitability.
  • Manage the company’s cash flow, investments, and risk management strategies.
  • Oversee internal audits and control procedures to ensure robust financial governance.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the finance team, promoting professional development and high performance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, banks, and regulatory authorities.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess a CPA designation.
  • Proven experience in a senior financial management role, preferably within the aviation or related industry.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience overseeing a team of financial professionals.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, accounting standards, and best practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strategic mindset.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively engaging with senior executives and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • High level of integrity, with a commitment to upholding the financial health and ethical standards of the organization.
