Our client is one of the hottest restaurant groups in the city and is preparing to launch a chic new concept in Yaletown. Backed by an experienced ownership group with a strong track record in restaurant operations, culinary execution, and guest experience, the business is being built on a solid operational foundation with a polished food program, a high energy atmosphere, and clear long term growth plans. This role has been created to lead the opening, establish front of house standards, and build the service culture, operating discipline, and commercial performance needed to support both a successful launch and future expansion.
Compensation
- Base salary of $100,000 to $125,000.
- Bonus begins in year 2 of operations.
- 3 weeks of vacation.

Responsibilities
- Lead all front of house operations and ensure the restaurant is structured for strong execution, team alignment, and long term operational success.
- Oversee the guest experience from arrival to departure so that service reflects warmth, consistency, pace, and polish.
- Partner with ownership and senior operations leadership to support a successful opening and build service standards, floor leadership structure, operating systems, and day 1 discipline.
- Build a high performing service culture rooted in professionalism, accountability, hospitality, teamwork, and calm leadership under pressure.
- Take ownership of labour deployment, staffing efficiency, scheduling, and team performance across the front of house.
- Lead recruitment, onboarding, coaching, performance management, and succession planning while developing a team that can grow with the business.
- Establish and reinforce training systems, floor standards, communication rhythms, and operating procedures that support consistency, service excellence, accountability, and scalability.
- Own key service side financial drivers including labour management, cost awareness, bar oversight, guest recovery, and revenue building initiatives.
- Review budgets, controllables, sales trends, bar performance, and broader front of house P&L drivers, then take corrective action to improve profitability.
- Work closely with the Head Chef to maintain strong front of house and back of house alignment and deliver a polished guest experience.
- Drive local awareness and guest loyalty by acting as an ambassador for the concept, building relationships in the market, and helping create a following around the restaurant.
- Maintain exacting standards of floor presentation, cleanliness, ambiance, service flow, and bar execution at all times.
- Represent the business as a credible, well presented leader while helping build the systems, leadership depth, and operational maturity required for future growth.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience in a senior restaurant leadership role within a high volume and polished hospitality environment.
- Strong floor leadership skills with the ability to independently run a restaurant where service standards, pace, execution, and sound judgement are critical.
- A genuine passion for hospitality and guest experience, along with the presence and confidence to act as the face of the business.
- Proven ability to lead teams, build culture, hold people accountable, and work collaboratively in an ownership led environment.
- Strong understanding of restaurant financials, including labour management, costing, bar performance, sales reporting, and front of house P&L accountability.
- Experience building structure and discipline in a growing business, including training systems, service standards, and scalable operating procedures.
- Professional presence and maturity to build relationships with guests, create a loyal following, and network effectively within the local market.
- Experience in bar management or a strong understanding of bar operations, beverage performance, and how the bar contributes to overall guest experience and profitability.
- Strong communication, organization, and dependability, with the ability to prioritize effectively in a fast moving environment.
- Comfort with core administrative tools such as Google Drive, Sheets, and Docs.
