Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the company as it prepares to become publicly listed, ensuring all activities align with the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
  • Lead a talented team of scientists and professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
  • Work closely with the Chairman and board of directors to define and execute the company’s long-term strategy, particularly focusing on the transition to a public company.
  • Oversee fundraising initiatives, engaging with investors, venture capitalists, and other financial stakeholders to secure the capital needed for growth and development.
  • Navigate the complexities of the public market, ensuring the company meets all regulatory requirements and adheres to the highest standards of corporate governance.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key industry partners, regulatory bodies, and other external stakeholders to enhance the company’s market position and brand reputation.
  • Drive the company’s mission to provide sustainable, lab-grown meat alternatives, leading the charge in ethical food production and innovation.
  • Oversee all operational aspects of the company, ensuring efficiency, quality, and scalability as the organization grows.
  • Lead the communication strategy for shareholders, employees, and the public, ensuring transparency and consistency in all messages.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a CEO or in a senior executive role within a publicly traded company, with a strong understanding of public market dynamics.
  • Experience in fundraising and capital raising initiatives, with a solid network of financial contacts and investors.
  • Familiarity with the regulatory and reporting requirements of a Canadian publicly listed company.
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience managing diverse teams, particularly in scientific or technological sectors.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building and maintaining relationships with a range of stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker with a demonstrated ability to lead a company through growth and change, particularly in the context of going public.
  • Background in the biotechnology, food technology, or a related industry is highly advantageous.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. An MBA is preferred.
