Our client is a fast-growing pet food company based in New York, specializing in organic, fresh-made kibbles sourced locally by region. With a strong commitment to transparency, sustainability, and pet wellness, the company has quickly become a trusted name among discerning pet owners. Currently in its Series B fundraising round, the organization is focused on scaling its digital presence and direct-to-consumer operations. They are seeking a Director of E-Commerce to lead their digital growth strategy and manage a high-performing team. This role reports directly to the President.
Compensation:
- Base salary of $210,000
- Bonus structure
- 3 weeks of vacation
Responsibilities:
- Lead the overall e-commerce strategy, execution, and performance across all digital platforms.
- Oversee a team of five, including digital marketing, customer acquisition, retention, and e-commerce operations.
- Drive DTC revenue growth through conversion optimization, UX improvements, and performance marketing.
- Collaborate with product, supply chain, and brand teams to ensure alignment across campaigns and product launches.
- Optimize the customer journey from first click through repeat purchase, increasing LTV and customer satisfaction.
- Manage relationships with external agencies, technology vendors, and platform providers.
- Analyze key performance metrics, using data to drive insights, experimentation, and continuous improvement.
- Develop and manage budgets, forecasting, and reporting for the e-commerce division.
- Play a key role in preparing for scaling efforts tied to Series B fundraising and market expansion.
- Stay informed on e-commerce and DTC best practices, platform innovations, and pet food industry trends.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience leading e-commerce or DTC operations, ideally within the pet, food, or health-related consumer product categories.
- Strong understanding of Shopify, subscription models, digital advertising, and retention strategies.
- Data-driven leader with experience using analytics tools to inform decisions and optimize performance.
- Experience managing and scaling cross-functional teams.
- Background in high-growth, venture-backed environments is an asset.
- Excellent communication and project management skills.
