Our client is a renowned marketing firm in the Greater Toronto Area, recognized for its prowess in media strategies and ad buys. As they continue to solidify their position in the market and nurture key relationships, they are in search of a Director of Accounts. This role, pivotal to their success, reports directly to the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) and takes the helm of a talented team of 15 professionals.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and guide the account management team, ensuring excellence in client service and campaign delivery.
  • Cultivate and nurture client relationships, understanding their needs and ensuring the company exceeds their expectations.
  • Collaborate closely with the CMO to align account strategies with overall company vision and goals.
  • Oversee the development, execution, and assessment of media and advertising campaigns for clients.
  • Manage key account metrics, ensuring profitability and growth.
  • Handle high-level negotiations and contract discussions with clients and vendors.
  • Ensure timely and successful delivery of solutions based on client needs and objectives.
  • Mentor and develop the team, fostering a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and client-centricity.
  • Stay abreast of media and advertising trends, ensuring the firm remains competitive.
  • Work closely with other department leaders to streamline processes and ensure seamless execution of campaigns.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a senior account management role, ideally in a marketing firm specializing in media and ad buys.
  • Strong track record of managing and growing large client accounts.
  • Ability to lead and inspire a team, with a background in managing teams of 10 or more.
  • Exceptional client relationship skills with a knack for understanding client needs and translating them into actionable strategies.
  • In-depth knowledge of media planning, buying, and the advertising landscape.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to identify opportunities and challenges and act upon them.
