Company Bio:
Our client is a prominent venture capital firm based in New York, known for investing in innovative startups and high-growth companies across various industries. With a strong reputation for strategic investment and industry leadership, they are seeking a Director of Communications to manage and elevate their brand presence. This role reports directly to the Managing Director and will play a crucial role in shaping the firm’s messaging, media relations, and corporate communications strategy.
Compensation:
- Base salary of $110,000
- 10% annual bonus
- 3 weeks of vacation
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive communications strategy that aligns with the firm’s investment philosophy and business objectives.
- Manage all external communications, including press releases, media relations, and investor messaging.
- Build and maintain relationships with journalists, industry analysts, and media outlets to enhance the firm’s visibility.
- Oversee digital communications, including website content, social media, and thought leadership initiatives.
- Support internal communications efforts, ensuring alignment across all levels of the organization.
- Collaborate with the investment team to craft compelling narratives around portfolio companies and industry trends.
- Develop and manage public relations campaigns that position the firm as a leader in the venture capital space.
- Monitor industry trends, competitor communications, and market developments to refine messaging strategies.
- Handle crisis communications and reputation management, ensuring a proactive and strategic approach to potential challenges.
- Prepare key executives for public speaking engagements, interviews, and media appearances.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in corporate communications, public relations, or marketing, preferably within venture capital, finance, or technology.
- Strong media relations skills, with a network of industry contacts in financial and business media.
- Excellent writing and storytelling abilities, with experience crafting press releases, thought leadership content, and investor messaging.
- Digital marketing experience, including managing social media and website content.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate complex financial concepts into compelling narratives.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
- Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment is a plus.
