Our client, a prominent independent group in the Greater Toronto Area, boasts ownership of over 10 distinguished car dealerships. With a legacy built on excellence, they have a dynamic team of 500 employees dedicated to exceptional service and innovation. As they continue to evolve and expand, they are seeking a seasoned Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join their executive leadership team and report directly to the CEO and Founder.
Responsibilities:
- Drive operational excellence across all dealership locations, ensuring efficiency, profitability, and top-tier customer service.
- Collaborate with the CEO and Founder on setting comprehensive goals for performance, growth strategies, and company-wide initiatives.
- Oversee the management of dealership operations, including sales, service, parts, finance, and administration.
- Design and implement operational processes, guidelines, and best practices to optimize performance.
- Lead the team of 500, promoting a culture of teamwork, continuous learning, and accountability.
- Engage with key stakeholders, OEM partners, and vendors to foster strong relationships and optimize business opportunities.
- Monitor and analyze industry trends, identifying opportunities and threats in the market.
- Develop and manage the annual operating budget in collaboration with the finance team.
- Ensure all dealerships comply with local, provincial, and federal regulations.
- Implement new technologies and systems to improve operational efficiency and customer experience.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a COO or in a similar senior leadership role, ideally within the automotive dealership sector.
- Strong understanding of business operations, financial management, and market dynamics.
- Demonstrated ability to lead large teams and manage diverse operations.
- Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities, with strong interpersonal and public speaking skills.
- Proficient in modern dealership management systems and software.
- Strategic visionary with sound analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration or a relevant field.
- Unyielding commitment to the highest standards of professional ethics and integrity.
