Our client is an emerging restaurant group based in Edmonton, Alberta, poised to redefine the local dining scene with bold concepts, elevated hospitality, and a strong focus on operational excellence. With multiple locations planned and a clear growth trajectory, the organization is building a leadership team capable of scaling systems, culture, and performance from the ground up. They are seeking a Chief Operating Officer to partner closely with ownership and lead the operational foundation of the group during this high-growth phase.

Compensation

  • Base salary: $180,000.
  • Performance-based bonus.
  • 3 weeks vacation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the overall operations strategy across current and future restaurant locations.
  • Build scalable systems, SOPs, and performance frameworks to support expansion.
  • Oversee General Managers and senior leadership across front-of-house and back-of-house operations.
  • Develop labour models, cost controls, and operational benchmarks to ensure profitability.
  • Partner with ownership on site selection, build-outs, and new location launches.
  • Drive culture, accountability, and leadership development across the organization.
  • Monitor KPIs including food cost, labour cost, guest satisfaction, and revenue growth.
  • Collaborate with marketing and brand teams to align operations with brand positioning.
  • Implement training programs that reinforce service standards and execution consistency.
  • Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a senior operations leadership role within the restaurant or hospitality industry.
  • Demonstrated success scaling multi-unit restaurant operations.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing P&L responsibilities.
  • Experience opening new restaurant locations is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional leadership and team-building skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to balance growth and operational discipline.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
