Company Bio:
Our client is a diversified group of companies with two primary operations: a major player in the e-commerce space and an internationally recognized toy company. Together, they employ 50 people and are poised for accelerated growth in both sectors. As they expand operations into Los Angeles, they are seeking a strategic and hands-on Corporate Controller to establish and lead their local finance team. This role is central to both day-to-day financial operations and long-term financial planning and reports directly to the President.
Compensation:
- Base salary of $160,000

Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of a new Los Angeles-based finance team, including hiring, onboarding, and structuring the department.
- Oversee all financial operations across the e-commerce and toy businesses, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
- Manage strategic financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting to support executive decision-making.
- Direct month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparation of financial statements and reporting packages.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, tax regulations, and other relevant accounting standards.
- Collaborate with department heads to align financial strategies with operational goals.
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, and investment planning across business units.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance reporting, controls, and operational efficiency.
- Act as a key business partner to the President, providing data-driven insights and recommendations.
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial consultants as required.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Senior Accountant is desirable.
- CPA designation is a strong asset but not required.
- Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP, financial controls, and accounting systems.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to build and manage a team.
- Strategic thinker with attention to detail and strong analytical abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
